it's said that marijuana can help with the vomiting due to the chemotherapy. but idk about the living longer part. :/

it probably wont make him live longer, but it will make his daily life easier to deal with. marijuana is a pain killer and reduces nausea cause by chemo therapy. look up lester grinspoon's website and books for more info.

marijuana will do several different things. If he's on Chemo then it will offset a lot of the side effects. It will boost his appetite (which helps improve the immune system), it will reduce his pain if he has any, will help him fall to sleep. And in a few studies, has been shown to stop the spread of various cancers (I don't remember if leukemia was one). But they don't give it to almost dead patients, they give it to patients that don't need 30 different pills to take every hour. No Promises, but it might prolong him a few weeks if not months.

Let me just say in my cousins case for her eyes it helped. It had to do with cateracts and she still told to take it by a Doctor in Southern Cal.

medical marijuana actually inhibits cancer cell growth, which can reduce the aggressiveness of the cancer your friend has, and THC is found to kill leukemia cells

It wont help his health, but it will help a LOT with the side effects of his treatment. And no, it doesnt mean youre going to die if they give you marijuana. Millions of cancer patients use marijuana. It will help relieve his nausea and help him eat without being as medicated as the other meds they would use instead. He needs to know that marijuana falls into the neutropenic diet restrictions. If he does use, his doctors need to know and she needs to make sure he is checking his temp on a regular basis and other wise watching for signs of infection.

It has primarily been given to relieve pain (not necessarily just when someone is about to die) and to ease the nausea the cancer drugs cause. A lot of people on those drugs aren't able to keep food down which makes their body week- marijuana allows them to eat and gain that strength from it. There are studies coming out around the world that show it has cancer fighting properties. You can bet if I had cancer I'd be using copious amounts. Steve Kubby, a medical marijuana activist, has a rare type of adrenal cancer. He is only able to live because marijuana manages it. However we don't know enough about it's effects on cancer that's already pretty bad. I don't know enough about your friend's condition to tell you if it will help him live longer, but I hope so.
