stage 4 lung cancer treatment when someone had a heart attack

stage 4 lung cancer treatment when someone had a heart attack?
My uncle has been told that there is no possible treatment, because of the fact he has had a heartattack two years ago. I have not spoken to the doctor cause I am on the west coast he is on the east. Yet, I have a feeling this might be a conservative opinion. Yet, could some one with a medical background or better skills at researching than me please confirm this information. I realize that Stage 4 is quite terminal, yet I know that he is a fighter so if anyone knows of anything radical or anything, it would really be useful information.

I really doubt anything can be done, but one must look at quality of life vs. Quanity of life. Stage 4 is terminal and the blood goes all over the body, i suspect that he has cancer in other places probably his entire body.
2 :
One thing that I have learned was what my mother went through (lung cancer), she endured radiation/chemo therapy and really sick most of the time during her 3 months fight for life, IS I WOULD CHOOSE to live, have fun, travel, whatever would make me happy and leaving lasting memories behind to those who remember. I'd choose no treatment. Sorry about your uncle, my heart goes out to you and your family.

Stage 4 isn't terminal , i had it and i came back . There is always treatment there just needs to be discussions with the doctors , but you cant force him to go through treatment. He can do chemotherapy , radiation or even surgery to remove the tumor

READ: The Allopathic Cancer Conspiracy at: http://whale.to/a/cancer_c.html Then think about trying this: New studies on the benefits of onion juice for eliminating cancer have just been concluded by researchers at Cornell University, confirming what we have been saying all along - onion juice will cure your cancer. What they are still not understanding is how the onions should be administered to effectuate the greatest benefits in eliminating your cancer. Find out the proper procedures for onion juice treatment at http://www.brokenearth.org/cancer

I have seen patients who have a history of heart attacks and receive radiation. I have also seen lung cancer cases where the patient was not a candidate for radiation as the area to be treated was inline with the heart. I donĂ¢€™t think you are getting the correct information. Call his radiation oncologist if you can not speak to him or her right then, give a 2-3 hour window when it is best to reach you and make sure they know you are on the west coast. This type of doctor has a different type of practice that the doctors you are probably used to seeing. They have more time between patients than most doctors as their job requires them to do a lot of dictation and review a lot of scans and x-rays making it easier to return calls. I hope this helps. Good luck to you and your family.

Is there an effective substitue for Tamoxifen in alternate therapies as post cancer treatment

Is there an effective substitue for Tamoxifen in alternate therapies as post cancer treatment?
It is well known that there are ghastly side effects ( specially on Uterus in women) of prolonged use of Tamoxifen, though it prevents recurrence at affected location. Why the lobby of alternate medicine therapist silent on this? Can Harmone Balance therapy be effective? Please advise.

There are supplements that help with estrogen imbalance...I'm not sure if they are as effective as tamoxifen but the risks are fewer. Look into: Brevail Nature's Way Dim-plus Calcium D-Glucarate Consider: ovary removal plus these alternative substitutes. Diet is very important, too. Weight loss also prime consideration as excess fat creates bad estrogens.

Hi, I think that USA is the best center for cancer treatment , in special Houston, in Mexico exist various case with exit on cancer treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston Texas)
2 :
depends where you live and what type of cancer.try the following site www.cancer.org/
3 :
I don't know of all them, but US is probably the most advanced in cancer research and treatments. There's a center is cali, I've heard. Cedars-Sinai, where ever that is. In NC, there's unc chapel hill, duke medical center, and wakeforest.
4 :
UCSF in San Franscisco California, is an excellent hospital! My daughter has leukemia and we love it there! www.ucsfhealth.org good luck!
5 :
there are some great centers in USA. It depends on type of cancer. look at who is doing the latest research on the particular cancer. Some of the top that I have researched (and used) Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, Mass Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, New York M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles, Calif. cancer linksusa list top 10 and top by state.
6 :
What type of cancer does your relative has? MD Anderson in Texas, Fred Hutchinson in Seattle, Stanford's med school hospital, the Cleveland Clinic and Dana Farber in Boston are excellent centers for treating leukemia and blood cancers. They are also excellent centers all-around, but I have no personal experience with other types of cancers. From what I've heard, Duke, MD Anderson, and Vanderbilt have excellent success with breast cancer clinical trials, but I can't vouch for them, since nobody I know personally has been there. There is a good lymphoma center is Florida, but I can't remember the name. The ACS website has a comprehensive list of centers. My sister got her bone marrow transplant at the Cleveland Clinic and we had excellent experience, but I don't know their success rates for other forms of cancer. They do admit international patients, and they usually speed up the visa procedure if it's for medical reasons.

Anybody hear or read about the Budwig diet as an alternative cancer treatment

Anybody hear or read about the Budwig diet as an alternative cancer treatment?
This treatment is mentioned online and seems very interesting.

People like Johanna Budwig make wild and unproven claims and exploit the desperation of vulnerable people. There is no scientific evidence that any food, including cottage cheese, can affect the progress of cancer in any way. Yes, there are unsubstantiated testimonials on the internet; but you have no way of knowing if the person ever had cancer, much less that they have been cured. The plural of anecdote is not data. Unlike conventional treatments, this one has not been proven in clinical trials. Anyone who follows Johanna Budwig's recommendations will be investing time, money and hope in something that is not effective, as well consuming quantities of not very enjoyable food. Meanwhile, their tumours will be growing. A cancer patient who relied on cottage cheese and flax oil instead of conventional treatment would almost certainly die. The thing to bear in mind is that, in this context, 'alternative' is just another word for 'unproven'. If something had been proven to be effective against cancer, it would no longer be 'alternative medicine', it would just be medicine. The writer of the first answer would do well to bear that in mind too. S/he didn't actually need to tell us that s/he didn't have and hasn't got cancer - that's apparent from the nonsense s/he's posted. Cancer hobbyists - people who have no knowledge or experience of cancer, but become convinced that some bollocks they've read on the internet is the cure, are a pain on this board.
2 :
Budwig is usually a COMPLEMENTARY treatment for cancer patients if they decided to engage in complementary treatments. It's not meant to replace traditional treatements done by doctors. CAM procedures are created in hopes of improving the quality of life for a patient because often times treatment alone leaves a person miserable. There's lots of thoughts and ideas about how cancers should be treated, but the Budwig has not been proven as an actual CURE.

What do you think about this new cancer treatment

What do you think about this new cancer treatment?
A new technology has shown that a manmade molecules called dendrimers can slip out of blood vessels and precisely deliver a drug to tumor cells, at least in mice. The dendrimers can also advertise their locations, allowing researchers to track their progress. The researcher, James Baker, plans to begin human trials in July.It will prevent damage of body cells and doesn't have the side effects like chemo. The molecule will be small enough for the kidneys to flush it out once it is done with its job. I am all for it. Chemo is nearly kills the patient and sometimes doesn't do anything to the tumors.

It more seem better than others, as long as it doesn't have side effects. but it need to try in human first. anyway, it is new more hope full for cancer patients. my grandmother has cancer, she died.
5 :
That's wonderful. My cousin, Shannon, has a brain tumor. It's not cancerous, but it's still terrible. They've known about it since she was six. She'll be seventeen in July. She's had multiple surgeries on it, but they can't remove it without turning her into a vegetable. She's gone through too many rounds of chemo to count. She just wants a normal life. This treatment, if it works, could be the key to that.
6 :
I've been reading up on this new research as well. I'm really excited about it and am curious to see how well it works in human trials. Unfortunately, it wouldn't be the first time something looks promising in lab animals but fails miserably in human trials.
