When my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer and chemotherapy and radiation treatment were suggested, my dad asked how much time it would buy him. The answer- a few months. Not even a year. He lived with cancer for 18 months, no treatment at all. My father-in-law has cancer and took both the chemo and radiation, the treatments almost killed him, made him so sick and weak. Green tea is highly regarded in China and among holistic healers. Give it a try. The rest is up to your uncle, there is no miracle cure for cancer, just to be comfortable as you go.

Plug "Cancer Diet" into your search engine. There are lots of studies out there suggesting that some diets (low in refined sugars, vegan, organic, etc) are good for cancer. I also once read that the combination of flax oil and cottage cheese helps. I also should add that many many many people have had chemo/ radiation and it saved them. Don't ignore the doctors but add a healthy lifestyle.

Since I have been through cancer treatments in 2004 and 2005, I will answer as best as I can. Yes do the radiation, and it should target the area and work. Now more importantly you must pray for him, and he must believe that he will be healed. Attitude is everything in getting rid of a disease. My radiologist said mine went away much more rapidly than he expected. On to homeopathic drugs or supplements. I don't know what kind of cancer it is, so I will just tell you I took these Beta Glucan pills. They were proven in studies to reduce tumors and any formation of cancer. They are expensive, but I used two bottles while I was getting radiation. I believe in prayer, meditation, and all of the above. I did not want Chemotherapy and all those nasty chemicals put into my body. Good Luck and Keep your Faith.

I've been reading and researching for years because of my own health issues and came upon something that is absolutely revolutionary. It truly upsets me that the pharmaceutical companies along with doctors continue to promote drugs and treatments that only add to the problem. Have you ever heard of alkaline / acid balance? The more alkaline your body is, the less chance of disease and sickness you will have. The more acidic, the more sick you will become and the more chance of cancer cell growth. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an alkaline system! Get him alkaline!! I myself use ph drops in my water, and believe it or not Evian water is above our normal human alkalinity. Drink lots of alkaline water. I used this for about a month with the addition of greens to help with detoxifying my system and I did not get any of the horrible allergies, colds, or flu s .. anything! for over two years. My daughter could get sick around me and even sneeze in my face. I remained healthy. Get some pH test strips and if you can afford it (I have not been able to) get the machines that alkalize your water and drink it with greens. Just google alkaline and cancer. Good luck to you!! I wish you and your family health!!

Are you asking how much people pay for their cancer treatment? It depends on what they are getting and how good their insurance is.

How successful is treatment of Womb cancer

How successful is treatment of Womb cancer?
Recently discovered my mother has grade 3 womb cancer and i'm very concerned. She recently had a smear which was negative. Why was this? Does this mean it cant have spread yet? What is the success rate of such a hysterectomy? Will the lymph nodes be removed? Will she need chemo/ radio therapy? What is the difference between these two? Does anyone know how long she will take to recover if it is succesful? She is 61 but fairly fit, damn cancer!. Any answers would be greatly appreciated, thanks for your help.

Check out this: http://www.davincihysterectomy.com/cancer/uterine_tests_procedures.aspx?id=yguc&OVRAW=uterin%20cancer&OVKEY=uterine%20cancer&OVMTC=advanced&OVADID=20158469011&OVKWID=156012580511 It lists the different parts of the uterus - so you can search for more specific info like: 1. "General Information About Uterine Sarcoma," National Cancer Institute. www.cancer.gov. URL: http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/pdq/treatment/uterinesarcoma/patient 2. "Endometrial Cancer," American Family Physician (June 1999). URL: http://www.aafp.org/afp/990600ap/3069.html

Womb? You mean uterus, right? It really depends on how bad the cancer is. Only a doctor can tell you, and they will have to do lots of tests to see if the cancer has spread. If the cancer hasn't spread, they will just remove the affected organs, and then she will be fine. If it has spread, then yeah, she might have to have more surgery and chemotherapy. It's difficult to say, because I'm not a doctor, and I've never met your mother. It's best to stay optimistic though.

Pap smears are not used as a screening exam for uterine cancer. A negative pap only indicates it has not spread to ther cervix, but not anywhere else. What treatments she needs and how successful they are depend on the stage of the disease. It usually takes 6-8 weeks to recover from a hysterectomy.

My sister was treated for this about 10 years ago. Hysterectomy and internal radiation treament. About 6 weeks recovery from surgery & extra 2 weeks due radiation. Fighting fit now.

If you are looking for a prostate cancer treatment, what are your options? Treatments vary significantly from case to case. Because prostate cancer is usually very slow growing, one often-prescribed treatment is no treatment at all. This is called "watchful waiting", in which action is only taken if the cancer starts spreading. If a man is in his 70s and his cancer is contained within the prostate gland, the best treatment is usually watchful waiting because the risks involved with treating it outweigh the fact that the man is probably going to die from something completely unrelated to the prostate cancer. If, however, a man is diagnosed with prostate cancer in his 40s or 50s, the cancer needs to be attacked because there is a good chance that, in this man's lifetime, the cancer will start spreading. Options to attack this cancer include surgery, radiation therapy, as well as other treatments such as hormonal therapy. Surgery is often a good option is the cancer is contained within the prostate gland, as is radiation therapy. Side effects may include erectile dysfunction, nerve damage, or involuntary urine leakage. The same side effects are present in radiation therapy. One treatment option, which has been getting some media attention, is High Intensity Focused Ultrasound. Supposedly it works the same as radiation therapy without the harmful side effects. Take care...

Does Testicular Cancer treatment make the patient infertile

Does Testicular Cancer treatment make the patient infertile?

1 :
It can, but it really depends on the treatments and the severity of the cancer. You can't predict if it will or not so some patients store sperm for use at a later date. The person with testicular cancer should probably get some counselling before undergoing treatment, just to make sure he understands his options. My son had testicular cancer 13 years ago and he and his wife are now expecting their first child.
2 :
It can make you infertile. It depends on what stage that they have caught the cancer. Sometimes if they catch it early enough, it won't make you infertile, but you may have to wait a while though.
3 :
My father had testicular cancer as a young man. He had the affected testicle removed and had radiotherapy. He went on to father 3 children, the first of them born less than 18 months after his diagnosis. He died almost 50 years later of something unrelated to cancer. And treatments have improved since then. You may find this information from Cancer Research UK useful http://www.cancerhelp.org.uk/help/default.asp?page=3575

Approximately how long is a treatment of chemo for colon cancer

Approximately how long is a treatment of chemo for colon cancer?
My boyfriends ex (mother of his son) was diagnosed recently. I don't know many details besides it hasn't spread to any other organs and they told her she'll need about 2 chemo treatments. I just wanted to know how long the treatments usually take? Also does this sound like a beatable cancer?

Sorry to hear that. Each case is different. There's some info about colon cancer treatment below. Many cancer patients live for decades. There are many factors that will determine this. I would strongly suggest a good nutritional program including supplements, which will help with recovery and long-term health.
2 :
If she needs chemo but it has not spread to other organs, she likely is stage II or III, the difference primarily being lymph node involvement in stage III. Standard therapy is currently FolFOX, which is Folinic acid, 5FU, and OXaliplatin. It is given every 2 weeks for 12 treatments, so 6 months of therapy. There are other chemo options, including capecitabine (Xeloda), a pill which is converted to 5FU after swallowing, which can be give on a 3 week course 8 times- again 24 weeks or 6 months of therapy. 6 months is the norm. God bless, best wishes

Can prostate cancer spread after been diagnose, before treatment

Can prostate cancer spread after been diagnose, before treatment?
My husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer in April, up to today he have not be given the treatment needed. How long it takes for prostate cancer to spread?

It usually doesnt spread very fast but it does depend on the cancer. Most prostate cancer spreads slow but a small percentage of it spreads rapidly... There is a harmon shot called Lupron that he can get that will stop the growth for a few months... Lupron will generally put the cancer on hold for up to 8-10 years if you get a shot every 4 months or so.. However it does not destroy the cancer ..just sort of puts it on hold for a while.. I had prostate cancer in 2005 and had Proton Radiation treatments at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda California. I think Proton Radiation is the very best treatment for prostate cancer available today.. It has a 90% cure rate and little to no side effects.. I was not sick one single day during or after treatments... and have no side effects from the treatments.. My PSA is now .13 (Point one three) and its like I never had cancer.. every thing works just like always...Medicare and most insurance covers Proton Radiation..There is a website called Proton Bob that gives alot of information about prostate cancer and Proton Radiation... If you go to the website be sure and read the Patient Testimonial section... by the men who have had proton radiation.. any one who has ever had it is totally sold on it..and why not a 90% cure rate and no side effects.. There is also a book recently out by Robert J. Marckini a prostate cancer survivor that tellls all about prostate cancer and then tells about all of the available treatment options today and out lines all of the pros and cons and side effects of each treatment... Any one with Prostate Cancer or prostate problems should read the book.. It is available at Barnes and Nobles and other book stores and can also be purchased on line at the Proton Bob website..The name of the book is YOU CAN BEAT PROSTATE CANCER. I dont know if you have insurance or not.. but the lupron shots cost about $1,200.00 to $1,500.00 hundred each.. and are needed about every four months. However, as I said earlier, the lupron shots are not a cure.. its like a band aid..that puts a hold on the cancer for a while..If you have any questions about my experience with prostate cancer or Proton Radiation, please feel free to email me here on yahoo answers.. hope this helps some...Also the Proton Radiation is available in 4-5 places in the US .. Loma Linda California, M. D. Anderson in Houston, Texas.. Florida, Indiania, and Maryland I think.. Proton Bob website tells where it is available.. Loma Linda pioneered it about 17 years ago and due to their great success other hospitals are starting to offer it.. some doctors are slow to recommend it.. dont know about it, think is experimental or its simply a money thing with them.. if they send you else where they dont make any money from treating you..sad but true...

it can but not that fast
