My 84 year old step-father's lymphoma has returned. The oncologist told us today that he doesn't want to use chemo for treatment for him due to his age and other health problems, but might prescribe prednisone after all the blood tests come back. How does this medication help with cancer such as lymphoma? Me either Joe. I was going to ask the oncologist about it, but he said that he would explain more later after the blood tests come back.

You should ask the oncologist how it works. I am learning a lot about this subject cancer because of going through it myself. I have not heard of anyone using Prednisone.
