Boy friend does not want her to have treatment, threatens to leave her? She is in counseling ,mental health problems, since age 15.

If he's threatening to leave her because she wants to try to survive longer, then there's something wrong with him. What the hell is going on?

all treatments for patients under the age of 18 need parental or guardian conset. if the boyfriend doesn't want it, which is pretty much weird, he's out of luck her parents do, WHICH i think they probably do. this is interesting.

depending on the age of consent in the state, my state the age is 15, so yes in most instances she could refuse tx, unless she is deemed insane and unable to make her own decisions, which would have to been done through the legal system.

Legally you are not an adult and cannot make these decisions until you are 18 nor can you enter into a legal contract, unless you are an emancipated minor. The hospital and doctors must get the parents permission to treat. The parents also have the right to restrict visitors and if this were my daughter that boyfriend would be top on the list. The age of consent has nothing to do with this. “Consent is referring to consenting to have sex and nothing more. Also the process in which you legally appoint a conservator over an adult who is then legally bound to make medical decisions for them is done through probate court. The legal standard is NOT “insane, it is incompetent to make medical decisions.

What kind of cancer is it? That's very important because certain types have high success rates and others very poor success rates even with the best standard Medical care. If the success rate is lousy why push it? Plus she is 17 so in my book she can make her own decisions, but it shouldn't be because her boyfriend is manipulating her. Sounds like she'd be better off without him as it is. Is he afraid her hair fall out and he won't want to be with her or some selfish thing? If that's the case he needs a quick jolt on the reality tree.

The 17 year old parent have to make that decision. not the boyfriend. She has a lot more to worry about than having a boyfriend. Somebody should talk to the girls parents and tell them about what the boyfriend is saying. they could get a restraining order against him to leave her alone and let the parents do what best for their child.
