Can i claim for travel costs to and from my cancer treatment?
i have got to have radiotheropy every day for 38 sessions in london can i claim back the rail costs .

if you are of low income( in receipt of certain benefits) you can claim it back by filling in a form called HC5 which is downloadable form the nhs website.proof of travel costs will also need to be supplied. you can follow this link http://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/Healthcosts/Pages/Travelcosts.aspx if you dont qualify this way, ask your specialist nurse to complete a macmillan grant form(means tested) for a payment of up to 500 pounds, die to you having to travel to obtain cancer treatment.

Not relevant to you, but to keep people informed of general practices elsewhere, here in Australia you can claim assistance if you need to travel more than 200km a day or 500km a week. Round trip for my treatments was about 150km, so I couldn't claim for checkups or chemo, but could for my radiation.
