Government policy for giving NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE free of cost to people is a VERY GOOD SCHEME. National health insurance is health insurance that insures a national population for the costs of health care and usually is instituted as a program of healthcare reform. It may be administered by the public sector, the private sector, or a combination of both. Funding mechanisms vary with the particular program and country. Therefore National health insurance does not equate to government run or government financed health care, but is usually established by national legislation.Some countries implement national health insurance through a national insurance fund operated by the government from which medical expenses are paid.Some other contries also follow this. I do not know if it covers cancer treatment and make the treatment free. Recently the TAMILNADU Goverment has extended such insurance to all poor people in the State (Ofcourse it is a Political Gimmick by Karunanidhi) and such concession should be extended to all in India. In this all will get treatments free of cost for Cancer and other ailments. The government should give this for treating all types of Cancers to all citizen of India, so that the deaths for want of money can be avoided. For this the government should develope new treating fecility on their own and give to people. -

In Australia we all are receiving free health care under the current Medicare system many people have private insurance & therefore able to chose a doctor, staying in private hospital & generally having more attention
