Is there any medical condition, aside from Cancer, during the treatment of which the patient's hair falls out?
I've just read a book (carirhys@hotmail.com - it's a Welsh book), and there's a girl in it who's in hospital receiving treatment which makes her hair fall out. They don't mention what kind of treatment or ailment she has, but I assumed it was Cancer. Is there any other medical treatment which requires that kind of treatment?

Well there is always radiation poisoning, during which hair does fall out. Also there are various deprotenating diseases that may cause the hair to fall out. Because chemotherapy does kill lots of protein structured molecules. Try googling it, to find out. I think symptoms: loss of hair.
