If a man has no insurance, job or property and he gets cancer, will the govt help him pay for treatment

If a man has no insurance, job or property and he gets cancer, will the govt help him pay for treatment?
This man is older, 61 and he lives with his wife who is on social security. He suddenly comes down with cancer. Will the state pay for his/her cancer treatment including chemotherapy and surgery?

They would if he was in prison, so they should for a law abiding citizen.
2 :
Oh yes. they will. They will have public aid do something and they will pick up the tab.
3 :
In addition, if he takes part in a clinical research trial they provide drug for free, some also provide compensation for taking part in such studies, so there are options....yet one should not consent to therapy for such purposes solely...there are also foundations set up for charity care situations.

If you are in the US, then you should apply for Medicaid. It is the health program for indigent people. Medicaid is a federal program administered separately by each state. Contact your state's Department of Health for instructions on how to apply. At age 65 you will automatically qualify for Medicare. Contact the Social Security Administration or check their web site to learn more. Good luck.

Is there anyone who has undergone alternative medicine treatment for cancer

Is there anyone who has undergone alternative medicine treatment for cancer?
My mother is a case of stage IV throat (oropharynx) cancer and has completed 9 rounds of chemotherapy and 40 rounds of radiotherpy? She is unable to eat anything due to the side effects of radio therapy and of course the cancer present in the oropharynx part. Is there someone who has undergone similar cancer treatment through alternative medication? Any answers will be highly appreciated?? My e-mail ID is shiv_cancermania@yahoo.com. Please help.

I have not personally gone through cancer but I have talked to some people who use alternative medicine with good results and success. The product they use is called Natural Cellular Defense Zeolite and from what the studies show, it helps suppress the cancer/tumors in the body. There has been a lot of studies done on this particular type and doctors and scientists attest to it's working ability. Here is a link for more info: www.ncdpro.com/waiorabiz/ Here's also a testimonial website for this product: http://www.testimonyinfo.com/ Now be careful of imitation and knock offs because those can actually do harm. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

There is a doctor by the name of Dr. Becker, he had cancer and was told he only had weeks to live. As a doctor he couldn't accept this, he was certain that with all the doctors out there that someone surly would know how to treat cancer. (other than through the normal stuff) That was over 8 years ago. I take many of his things and I am a 14 year cancer survivor. You can find out about him and his products at: www.biointavation.com His book is great.

Any potential treatment wouldn't be "alternative" if it actually worked, traditional medicine would have embraced it. So, I am very sorry, but the answer is "no". Your Mother's prospects are best (by far) if she continues the treatment recommended by an oncologist...
4 :
No. You will find no documented scientific evidence to support the use of alternative medicine for the successful treatment for cancer. You may find plenty of enthusiastic people who will sell you products to 'cure' the disease or even people who will swear by testimonials that this will work . .unfortunately, none of it can be proven and the sad fact is that the people who have tried these things out usually . . die (they would be here if it worked.) I do know more than a few people who have tried alternative, holistic, and naturopathic medicine . . and though they have said it makes them 'feel better' . .and perhaps stronger to fight the cancer . . not one has ever been even close to being 'cured'. So . .if you are interested in using integrative type medicines . . find someone who is skilled in naturopathic medicine . . maybe they could help keep your mother comfortable . . and who knows maybe she would be one to respond to it. You can look through the Annie Appleseed site for more information: http://www.annieappleseedproject.org/

http://www.apricotsfromgod.info/journal.htm Apricot seeds and b17 saved my fathers life. Dx in January with stage 4 stomach cancer to the liver,my dad was not given much hope. Five months later after 1 bag of apricot seeds and 2 bottles of b17 my dad is cancer free. The doctors are stunned, they dont know what to say. The stomach and liver are totally clean. He did have 5 treatments of chemo each 3 weeks apart but I dont credit the chemo at all. Even his kidney doctor is amazed. He told my dad that his kidney function is the best its ever been in the 13 years that he has had diabetes. The reason there is no scientific evidence for alternative treatments is that they are not highly profitable to big pharma. It is impossible by law for a substance to be considered to have scientific evidence unless big pharma submits it to the FDA,and they will only submit things that are very very profitable to them. So the many thousands of studies of natural substances that have cured or treated cancer are ignored by our government because they were not done under the control of big pharma. Since most alternative cancer treatments are very inexpensive and non-patentable,they do not provide the cancer industry with a single penny of revenue so they are relatively obscure. A great book to check out is Cancer Step Outside the box By Ty Bollinger. Take at look at the reviews at Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Cancer-Outside-Ty-M-Bollinger/dp/0978806506/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1214667009&sr=8-1

What business is it of the Governments whether that kid wants cancer treatment

What business is it of the Governments whether that kid wants cancer treatment?
What business is it of the governments whether this kid gets cancer treatments? I hope they don't find the kid. I know I don't want the government making healthcare decisions for me as they can't seem to run anything they already run well.

Your Religion does not permit you to let your kids die in America...And thank God for that. If that was the case many sick and worthless humans could hide behind any religion they wanted , to abstain from their responsibilities. The government is 100% correct in their interpretation of the law here.
2 :
Good question. I say let him do what he wants.
3 :
Because, it's not the KID, it's the parents. They are denying him "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. And, when that happens, it's a government matter.
4 :
Protection of the innocent is in their mandate
5 :
Funny. I don't seem to remember Conservatives having that opinion back in the Terri Schiavo case. They were all for having the government intervene in a private health care decision then.
6 :
zip, zero, none. the federal government in infringing upon that family's 1st amendment right. Hell, I hold no religious domination, and I would never put my body through chemo (or radiation) Quirk is correct. The government had no business in the Schiavo case either.
7 :
It's not the gov's concern whatsoever. (However, I am concerned about the religious indoctrination of this kid though.) You're right, government run healthcare sucks. Been there, done that. It equals long lines and pain. I was 11 years old with a broken bone. Had to wait 4 excruciating hours for treatment. i can only imagine what universal healthcare has in mind for us.
8 :
The child's cancer is highly curable with treatment. When he was questioned it was obvious that he didn't really understand the situation he was in. The government has it right this time.
9 :
Without treatment, the kid will die. In this country, we deem that children are not mature enough to make decisions such as these.
10 :
the gov't should step out on this one...the kid AND his parents don't want it, he went through it once already...they want to try something knew, that should be their choice. **And the gov't WILL be making heath care decisions for you, if they get their way, didn't you know?
11 :
What business is it of the government if you choose not to feed your children. The boy's view does not have any legal standing, as he is a minor. He can't decide whether or not he can have sex, he can't decide who would make the best President of the United States, and he can't be trusted to decide whether the benefits of smoking (if any) outweigh the health risks. It's about his mom deciding on his behalf, that he should forgo the treatment. Thus, it's just like if feeding him was against their religious beliefs.
12 :
If there were alternative treatments for this child, there would be no problem. Cases like this have let the parents make the decision if there are other treatments. That is not the case here. This child will most likely die, so they see it as a form of child endangerment or child abuse. If a parent let their child starve to death, would that be wrong? If a parent let their child bleed to death, would that be wrong? I hope he dies and I hope she goes to prison...death row.
13 :
THEY HAVE NO BUSINESS AT ALL,JUST LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO IRAQ.
14 :
none- although Hodgkin's has very high cure rate if treated w/ chemo- chemo is very hard on the body- whether or not i agree with the kid/or family's' decision it is still their right to chose the therapy they want- religious issues also tie into life saving blood transfusions- it's as very tricky area w/ a lot of grey... but ultimately that decision belongs to the family- i'm almost a nurse and we are taught to respect religious preferences towards care as healthcare providers and the government needs to do the same- personally i would want to see him go thru w/ the chemo, but it's not my decision to make.
15 :
Government should protect the well being of children. Adults should be free to make their own decisions. Children need some protection though. I assume you must be pro-abortion to.... EDIT: How is this any different than a parent withholding insulin from a child? If the kids dies from neglect by the parents they'll probably get in trouble with the law for his death.
16 :
because they are bored and have nothing more to do. i guess they want everyone to live. there are already 7 billion people on this planet and that's way too many.
17 :
his cancer is treatable, without it he will die. i don't care what religion you are, to me the mom is slowly killing her son by not getting the chemo he needs. so what if he gets sick from it, all cancer patients do. they need to be found, and the mom thrown in jail for child endangerment.
18 :
The kid is too young to decide for himself and his parents will not let him receive the treatment based on religious beliefs. His parents decided he would be better off if he followed a holistic native american treatment, which is idiotic. The government wants the boy to be reevaluated by an oncologist to see if he would benefit from additional chemotherapy and radiation therapy. If he will not benefit then there the government sees no need to force the treatment on the child. The government is right in their interpretation of the law.
19 :
Well it is not. No where in the Constitution does it grant the government this power. But since they have the firepower. And they feel like meddling. It doesn't really matter now does it? We have huge numbers of people who think it ok for the government to meddle. They are going to do what is best for you whether you like it or not.
20 :
Thank god, I'm an atheist. Seriously though if god did exist what would he say to this woman when he passes judgment. "You let your son die when you could have saved him. Good Job. Welcome to heaven." If that's the quality of people who get into heaven I'd rather go to hell. What would god say to the Judge that ordered treatment. "You tried to save some kid. I banish you to an icy lake of fire and rot. Muhaahaaaha."
