If you are referring to who accredits and surveys hospitals with cancer programs that is the American College of Surgeons. Each state has their own regional registry that all the hospital registries are responsible to and they provide our standards, continuing education, etc. There are also standards everyone must follow regardless of profession such as staging, histology codes, patient’s privacy rights, etc. and there are different agencies that determine these standards.
